Greta Bliss

Associate Professor

Greta Bliss is Associate Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She holds a Ph.D. in French Studies from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her research centers on Maghrebi cinema and cultural production, with a focus on themes including cultural translation and internal exile in Algerian cinema, autoethnographic aesthetics in Moroccan fiction film, and social and environmental critique in postrevolutionary Tunisian cinema. Her work has appeared in _Studies in French Cinema_, _Contemporary French Civilization_, _Expressions Maghrébines_ and _The French Review_, and in collected volumes including _Hybrid Genres_ and _Le discours manipulateur : jeux et enjeux_. In addition to her teaching and research activities, Bliss currently serves as French Section Coordinator and Associate Chair of the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
