Elisabeth K. Baynard

Associate Professor of Practice

Elisabeth Baynard has over two decades of experience in public health practice, at the local, regional, and state level in North Carolina and West Virginia. Prior to joining the Public Health faculty here at UNCW in 2018, she served in an adjunct role dating back to 2001. Mrs. Baynard primarily focused her work in chronic disease prevention and management, and in substance abuse prevention with a specific focus on tobacco use. With a background in health education, her work led to opportunities in policy development and implementation while working for the North Carolina Division of Public Health on multiple federal grant initiatives. Her work led to many collaborative opportunities in the field of public health, which she now brings to her role at UNCW as both a faculty member and internship coordinator for our Public Health program.
