Jessica Barnes joins the College of Health and Human Services Student Success Center after completing a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistantship in the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences at UNCW while pursing her Master of Education. While with SHAHS, Jessica assisted in teaching Healthful Living and Fitness Education courses and teaching WPAL 101 courses focusing on cardio, strength, and stretch. Before coming to UNCW Jessica was a teaching assistant at Annie H. Snipes Academy in Wilmington, NC in a kindergarten classroom. Before coming to Wilmington, Jessica taught K-12 Physical Education and high school Health at Tuscaloosa Academy in Tuscaloosa, AL after pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Physical Education at the University of Alabama. In 2018 Jessica completed her Associates in Science and Group Fitness Certificate at Shelton State Community College where she taught an "Active Agers" class that focused on teaching individuals 65+ physical activity classes.
