Angela E Azzolina
Clinical Instructor
Angela is a Family Nurse Practitioner and full-time faculty in the School of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University in 2011 and began her career in the Emergency Department at Duke Regional Hospital. In 2013, she joined UNC Hospital in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit until 2020. During this time, she served as a preceptor for new hires and new graduates, helping them transition into critical care practice. She also held leadership roles as chair and co-chair of the Shared Governance Committee and was an active member of the Skin Committee.
She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University in 2019 and went on to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Novant Health. She joined UNCW as part-time faculty in 2024 and transitioned to a full-time faculty role in 2025. She continues to maintain her clinical practice part-time as a nurse practitioner in the Surgical Trauma ICU. She maintains certifications as a Critical Care RN (CCRN), Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
She primarily teaches in the pre-licensure program, serving as a clinical instructor at the hospital and in the simulation lab, and teaches in the RN-to-BSN program.
