Kelsey A. Axe

Director, Center for Academic Advising

Kelsey Axe is the Director of the Center of Academic Advising at UNCW. In this role, she supports new early career students in their transition to UNCW through major declaration. She works closely with academic advisors across campus and key university departments to ensure a smooth transition to UNCW. She oversees the Center for Academic Advising team, which includes curriculum initiatives (UNI 101: First Year Seminar and UNI 201: Transfer Seminar courses), orientation, and registration initiatives. Kelsey is committed to fostering a collaborative environment that enhances student success and learning.

Kelsey joined UNCW in 2018 and previously served as the Assistant Director of Advising and Curriculum, the Curriculum Coordinator, and an Academic Advisor. Prior to joining UNCW, she served as an academic advisor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for five years, working specifically with student-athletes and students majoring in the humanities and fine arts disciplines.
