Campus Life: Student Community Engagement

Ways to Give

Adopt-A-Family is a great opportunity to shop for a local family in need of assistance for their Thanksgiving meal. We work in conjunction with the Sister Isaac Center at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary's, located in downtown Wilmington. This center provides food, clothing, household items, and financial assistance to community members and families. Individuals, organizations, offices, departments, or family sponsorships are welcome.

Angel Tree

Angel Tree is an annual collection initiative to provide holiday gifts to children at the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw. Children who come to the Boys and Girls Homes have suffered abuse or neglect and are considered susceptible to high risk behaviors. The Angel Tree collection is an opportunity to provide children in foster care with gifts during the holidays. UNCW affiliated individuals, student groups, and UNCW departments are invited to participate in the Angel Tree project.

Blood Drives

Did you know that ONE blood donation can help save the lives of up to THREE people?  And that every two seconds someone in the US needs blood? If you want to donate blood, we can help! We host a blood drive through the American Red Cross once a month.

Donors must show ID at check-in and please be sure to eat a healthy meal and drink lots of water the day you donate!

Check when the next Blood Drive is here!

Hawk's Harvest

Hawk's Harvest is UNCW's food pantry for students. The goal of Hawk's Harvest is to make food available for all UNCW students. We realize how challenging it can be to focus on your studies if you are worried about the basic necessities - like how to pay for groceries. While it may only be temporary, that doesn’t mean it is any less real.

Want to support Hawk's Harvest? Consider making a financial donation or hosting a food drive! Donations can be dropped off in the Campus Life Suite in the Fisher University Union. Please email to arrange a drop-off time!
