Adopt-A-Family

Adopt-A-Family is a great opportunity to shop for a local family in need of assistance for their Thanksgiving meal. We work in conjunction with the Sister Isaac Center at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary's, located in downtown Wilmington. This center provides food, clothing, household items, and financial assistance to community members and families.

Want to donate this year? As a sponsor, you will buy groceries to provide a holiday meal for your family – the groceries will then need to be placed in a Rubbermaid bin or container with a lid (this helps to make transporting the baskets easy. Providing a meal for a family is a $40-60 commitment. Click the link below for more information and to sign up!

Unfortunately, Adopt-A-Family is full! Thank you to those who registered, we've hit records this year on the number of registrations for this program. Thank you!

Angel Tree

Angel Tree is an annual collection initiative to provide holiday gifts to children at the Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw. Children who come to the Boys and Girls Homes have suffered abuse or neglect and are considered susceptible to high risk behaviors. The Angel Tree collection is an opportunity to provide children in foster care with gifts during the holidays. UNCW affliated individuals, student groups, and UNCW departments are invited to participate in the Angel Tree project.

Want to participate this year? Upon completion of the registration form below, you will be sent a wish list for your child/children.  This year, we are receiving gift information in batches from the Boys & Girls Homes of NC, so it may take 3-5 business days to receive your shopping list. The drop-off date for all gifts is Monday, November 23 from 8am-5pm in the Fisher Student Center.

Unfortunately, Angel Tree is full! Thank you to those who registered, we've hit records this year on the number of registrations for this program. Thank you!

Did you know that in a recent survey, 5.5% of UNCW students who were food insecure indicated that they would benefit from having access to meals on campus? The goal of “Swipes for Seahawks” is to provide UNCW students who are food insecure access to healthy and well-balanced meals in our campus dining halls.  You can make a difference TODAY by donating one guest meal to a fellow Seahawk in need.
