About OLLI at UNCW

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNCW is one of 120 prestigious institutes founded by Bernard Osher since 1997 for seasoned learners 50+. Osher, a graduate of Bowdoin College, is retired from a successful career in banking and investing. Along with his wife Barbro, he has become one of the nation's most generous individual supporters of higher education. The Oshers are true philanthropists providing the means and opportunities for people to enrich their lives through the arts and higher education. The Bernard Osher Foundation supports a wide range of educational and cultural initiatives for lifelong learners. Since 2005, the foundation has awarded the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UNCW $2 million in endowments to support lifelong learning education at UNCW.
