We’ve rolled out some exciting updates to the Cascade News Module, giving content managers more flexibility with news articles. Now you can easily add photos after an article is created, enjoy a refreshed sidebar design and use the Artificial Intelligence tag throughout News.
Add Photos After Your Article Is Created
You can now upload a photo to your news article even after the article has been created. This is helpful if your photo was approved after you made your article or if you decide to add a photo later.
To upload a photo, you’ll need both:
- PhotoShelter URL for the photo
- Cascade Article URL for the article
Both URLs are needed to ensure the photo is saved in the correct images folder in news and has a file name that matches your article. This keeps your images organized and easy to find.

A Fresh Take on the News Sidebar
We changed the look and feel of the News Module sidebar based on your feedback.
The sidebar now has a sea foam background to match the new UNCW campaign style. Additionally, sidebar headings are smaller, so they stand out more from the main article content. Once the sidebar content ends, your main article wraps around it. This makes it easier to see the difference between the two sections and gives the page a cleaner look.
You can see these updates in action in the article, Research Starts Here: UNCW Engineering’s Undergraduate Edge.
New Artificial Intelligence Tag
Lastly, we added an Artificial Intelligence (AI) tag throughout the News Module. Use the tag for articles featuring AI-related work, research, development or people advancing the use of AI.
The tag dynamically places your article in the AI Hub’s news section, helping readers interested in AI discover your story and learn more about the work happening across UNCW.
