Colleen Brown ’14, ’25 Ph.D.

Colleen Brown ’14, ’25 Ph.D. is an environmental scientist whose lifelong curiosity for the ocean led her from Pittsburgh to UNCW. An alumna and now a doctoral candidate, she discovered her passion for water quality research through the Honors College and her work with faculty Ai Ning Loh and Mike Mallin. Hands-on fieldwork and the supportive community in the Aquatic Ecology Lab shaped Brown as a researcher and inspired her return to UNCW for doctoral study.
