Office of Innovation & Commercialization (OIC) Director Justin Streuli has been certified as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) by the Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals (ATTP). The certification distinguishes him among thousands in the field of knowledge exchange, technology transfer and commercialization practitioners working in universities, industry and government labs.
The ATTP, an international non-profit organization, promotes and maintains standards for the technology transfer/knowledge exchange profession, facilitating worldwide exchange and sharing of best practices. The RTTP designation is the highest accolade offered to tech transfer practitioners and is the only international standard for the profession, signaling an individual is an experienced, skilled professional with a proven record of achievement.
Streuli has served as the OIC director since 2020, driving revenue growth, support for innovation and initiatives that have connected UNCW research with real-world application. His leadership has led to significant achievements at UNCW, setting all-time annual records for most license revenue, largest single license, largest number of inventions reported, most patents filed, most patents issued during a fiscal year and over $1.5 million in translational research grants during the 2024 fiscal year alone.
The Office of Innovation & Commercialization provides services that deliver discoveries to market. The office guides UNCW researchers – faculty, staff and students – through the commercialization process by identifying commercial potential, pursuing patents and licensing and building business partnerships.
