Message from the Dean

Greetings from the Watson College of Education!

As we begin a new academic year, I am reminded how powerful education can be when people come together around a shared purpose. Over the past several months, the Watson College of Education has engaged in thoughtful planning for the future, expanded partnerships across our region, strengthened pathways into education and leadership careers and reaffirmed our commitment to student success and community impact. Our work has been guided by a simple belief: when we invest in people, we strengthen communities.  

Whether you are a current student, an alumnus, a school partner or a friend of Watson, you are part of that mission. Every teacher inspiring a child, every leader creating opportunities for others, every graduate serving schools, higher education institutions, organizations and communities reflects the impact of this college. We are proud to prepare future-ready professionals while also working with partners to address critical workforce needs, expand access to education and create meaningful opportunities for learners of all ages.  

What inspires me most is that our story is not just about programs or initiatives. It is about people. It is about students pursuing their dreams, alumni making a difference every day, faculty and staff who dedicate themselves to excellence and partners who believe that education has the power to change lives. Together, we are building a future where opportunity is expanded, communities are strengthened and the next generation is prepared to lead with purpose and integrity.

The future of education and leadership is being shaped every day by the people connected to Watson, and I could not be more optimistic about the impact we will continue to make together.
