Robles Honored in Wilmington "40 Under 40"

Mayra Robles, program coordinator for Centro Hispano, was named one of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s "40 Under 40" in its 6th annual list. 

According to the chamber’s website, the event recognizes “those who are pushing businesses to new heights, making their organizations stand out and contributing so much to our vibrant community." 

"Being honored with the '40 Under 40' award reaffirms that I am on the right path," Robles said. "My commitment to being present and accessible to my peers, students, and community members is driven by genuine purpose. Guiding my college students toward becoming stronger, more resilient leaders is a dedication of mine. This recognition showcases my positive impact on the local community, particularly working with the Hispanic/Latinx community."

To qualify, nominees needed to be under 40 years old by Oct. 2, 2024, and either live or work in Brunswick, New Hanover or Pender counties. 

The 2024 honorees will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Thalian Hall.  The deadline to purchase tickets is Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 11:59 p.m. 

The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is the first and longest continually operating chamber in North Carolina. With more than 1,000 members, the Wilmington chamber connects large and small businesses that collectively employ 40,000 employees in southeastern North Carolina.
