Dr. Yolanda Pollard has been selected as the new director of UNCW's Swain Center for Executive Education and Economic Development. She began her post on July 10.

Before joining UNCW, Pollard held various industry leadership roles, most recently with GE Vernova, the portfolio of GE’s global power businesses, and with Entergy Corporation, a Fortune 500 utility company where she provided strategic counsel for more than 25 years. Prior to that, Pollard led the customized corporate training function for the University of New Orleans.

"The Cameron School of Business is delighted to welcome Dr. Yolanda Pollard as our new executive director for the Swain Center for Executive Education and Economic Development,” said Dr. Nivine  Richie, associate dean in the Cameron School of Business. "Dr. Pollard brings a wonderful mix of corporate and educational expertise to the role. I look forward to working with her and introducing her to our community."

The Swain Center enhances the effectiveness of organizations in the region and the state through economic services and executive and professional education. The center's partnership with the Cameron School of Business allows it to leverage the expertise of its faculty in providing industry-university connections in the delivery of services to the region.

“It is an honor to continue the rich legacy of the Swain Center’s commitment to business leadership and economic development,” Dr. Pollard said. “I welcome the opportunity to partner with all key stakeholders in this capacity to enhance the region’s growth and progress."

Pollard earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in management from Troy University. She also holds a doctoral degree in executive leadership from the University of Holy Cross.
