Weather Alert: Campus Operating on Normal Schedule
Monday, June 21, 2021
After an initial assessment of campus impacts and in consultation with local and national weather authorities, UNCW will continue normal on June 21 as planned.
As a reminder, National Weather Service forecasts indicate an increased risk of rip currents and rough seas along the beaches near UNCW’s main campus. Avoid entering the ocean in affected areas until the threat has passed. Please visit the NWS rip current risk site for more information.
We do not anticipate the need for any further communications concerning Claudette, but please continue to monitor your campus email, the UNCW homepage, and social media feeds (Facebook and Twitter) during weather events. Weather models predict an active hurricane season (June 1-Nov. 30). The campus community is urged to be prepared at work and at home; visit the Emergency and Safety website for hurricane preparedness materials.
Thank you for your patience and for your attention to your safety and that of your campus community.
