Campus Vaccination Clinic Opened March 25
Tuesday, March 23, 2021
Update 3/30/21: On Monday, 3/29/21, the Student Health Center announced that the clinic would be open March 30-31 and April 1. Appointment registration information was sent to students, faculty and staff via their campus inboxes.
Update 3/25/21: The Student Health Center opened UNCW's COVID-19 vaccination clinic on March 25, administering 300 doses during the clinic's first two days of operation.
As previously announced, UNCW will be a COVID-19 vaccination site. This message is to let the campus community know what to expect when vaccine appointments are available.
The Student Health Center will be notified each week whether UNCW will receive vaccines. Upon confirmation, we will send a registration email for people to make an appointment using SignUp Genius.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to closely monitor campus inboxes for registration instructions. The emails will be titled “UNCW COVID Vaccine Registration Now Open.” It will be important to take action quickly, as the appointment slots will fill. Our goal is to host vaccination clinics as long as needed to serve the needs of our community.
Each email will be specific to the type and amount of vaccine that we receive and will follow the CDC and NCDHHS guidelines for who is eligible. To learn more about eligibility, please visit this website.
Please be punctual and keep your appointment. We will not be able to reschedule missed appointments.
Students who would like to talk to a medical provider about the vaccine as it relates to their health may call the Student Health Center at 910.962.3280 to make a telehealth appointment. Staff and faculty who have questions are encouraged to call their own health provider.
Vaccines will be given in the Burney Center. It will be necessary to wait in place for 15 minutes after receiving the vaccination. Vaccination cards will be given for updating records.
Please park where your permit allows when visiting the vaccination site.
Hosting a COVID-19 vaccination site on campus for our students, faculty and staff is one of the ways UNCW is continuing its collective commitment to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and support the shared goal of resuming typical operations in the fall. Please continue to monitor the university’s communication tools (including campus inboxes, the homepage, social media, and the Best for the Nest website) for updated COVID-19 information and guidelines.
We will not know ahead of time which type of vaccine or the quantity we will receive each week, these details will be included in the registration emails. For other questions, please email coronavirus@uncw.edu.
Thank you for helping to keep our community as healthy and safe as possible.
