The Office of Military Affairs and the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs announce Carrie West, transition programs coordinator, as the recipient of the inaugural Campus Green Zone Award for her support of military-affiliated students.

The award recognizes a dedication to “Green Zone” values, which reflect an awareness of the experiences and struggles faced by student veterans as they transition to academia. Honoring the values mean exhibiting trustworthiness, transparency and consistency while providing sound practices and procedures to help student veterans succeed.

Through West’s work within the Office of Transitions, particularly the Teal Bridge Mentor Program, she has worked tirelessly to develop virtual programming and to maintain steady communication with military-affiliated students.
