Eleven UNCW Student-Athletes Named Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholars

Eleven UNCW student-athletes have been named Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholars by well-known publication Diverse Issues In Higher Education.
The publication's April 4, 2019 issue recognized student-athletes from around the country who have excelled athletically and academically. UNCW's honorees included seven women and four men.
The awards are inspired by tennis legend Arthur Ashe Jr.'s commitment to education as well as his love for the game of tennis. U.S. colleges and universities are invited to participate in the program by nominating outstanding sports scholars. In addition to their athletic ability and academic performance, Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars demonstrate a commitment to community service and student leadership.
