Chancellor Sartarelli Launches the “Chancellor’s Challenge”
Monday, November 06, 2017
The Class of 2017-18 will have an opportunity to pay it forward for future Seahawks by participating in the Chancellor’s Challenge, a new giving effort initiated by Chancellor Jose V. Sartarelli.
The challenge is a part of the UNCW 2017-18 Senior Class Giving Campaign, which runs through June 30, 2018. Chancellor Sartarelli will match gifts to the university, dollar for dollar. The matching funds will support scholarships across campus.
Students can support any college, academic program, scholarship or athletic team that is meaningful to them. The challenge is also open to master’s and doctoral students who will receive their degrees during the 2017-18 academic year.
“It is my hope this challenge will inspire future graduates to give back and help increase alumni participation,” said Chancellor Sartarelli. “The gift, whatever its size, will make a huge difference to new generations of Seahawks.”
Gifts can be made online and during Seahawk Salute on Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the UNCW Bookstore. For more information, please visit giving uncw.edu/chancellorschallenge.
Students who participate in the Chancellor’s Challenge with a gift of $20.17 or more before Dec. 3 will be eligible for a VIP parking pass to commencement (limited to the first 250), a commemorative glass and an invitation to the Senior Toast. Graduates who make a gift after Dec. 3 will still be counted toward the challenge.
