Posted 2:50 p.m. - National Weather Service forecasts indicate an increased risk of rip currents along the beaches near UNCW’s main campus. Please visit the NWS rip current risk site for more information before heading out to the coast.

In collaboration with the National Weather Service and other agencies, UNCW is monitoring Tropical Storm Jose. Although the storm is not forecast to have a direct impact on the Carolinas, strong rip currents and dangerous surf conditions are expected along our coastline. Check local weather reports before heading to the beach. Stay out of the water as directed by weather reports, signage and safety personnel.
