UNCW ranks 9th nationally on a list of Best Online Education Degrees for 2017 compiled by the higher education website College Choice.

College Choice highlighted features that “differentiate” UNCW’s online program, including several areas of specialization, field experiences and “opportunities for international study experience.”  

“UNCW designs its online programs to give students access to high-quality courses of study that meet their individual needs and help them achieve their aspirations to become educators. The online Bachelor of Education is a great example of that work,” said Van O. Dempsey, dean of the Watson College of Education. “It is gratifying that College Choice recognizes the strength of our program.”

The university recently received additional recognitions from other ranking organizations:

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in creative writing is featured in a guide to Creative Colleges, and the publication lists other UNCW programs in artistic disciplines.

A report on student loan debt by the website LendEDU included UNCW on a list of public universities that leave students with the least debt.

UNCW’s Strategic Plan emphasizes affordability and excellence, and the university has consistently been recognized as a “best value” in higher education based on cost of attendance and academic rigor.
