Friday, March 10, 2017
Winter weather throughout NC may affect the travel of those returning to UNCW after spring break on Sunday, March 12. According to current forecasts, inclement weather will occur in areas north and west of Southeastern North Carolina on Saturday (March 11) and early Sunday. Ice and snow are not expected in the UNCW area.
UNCW will open campus residence halls at 6 p.m. on Saturday to assist students who choose to return to campus early. Please note: campus dining facilities are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Students who cannot return to the Wilmington area before Sunday should expect delays in those areas affected by inclement weather. Students should notify their instructors if they are unable to attend classes on Monday, March 13.

Any employees traveling back to campus from affected areas should consult their supervisors to determine their best personal course of action. The university is operating under normal conditions.
Students deciding to return to campus on Sunday should exercise caution when driving through areas affected by inclement weather. As always, have a full tank of gas, a paper map and cash before traveling.
Students, faculty and staff should monitor their inboxes and Facebook for updates. However, there is no expectation that campus operations or class schedules will be affected by weather conditions.
