New Website a Dynamic Resource for UNCW’s Military-Affiliated Students

The University of North Carolina Wilmington has launched a new website to assist current and prospective military-affiliated and veteran students in achieving their academic and career goals.
The one-stop shop portal includes information about support services and degree programs available at UNCW. The site was launched Nov. 11 in conjunction with Veterans Day.
“UNCW is committed to providing excellent support and high-quality, accessible degree programs to active-duty military, veterans and their families,” said Chancellor Jose V. Sartarelli. “We are truly thankful for the sacrifices our military-affiliated students have made for our country, and we want to do all we can to aid them in their transition from the military to academic life. We have the resources to help them succeed, and this website makes it easier for them to access those resources.”
Approximately 1,600 military-affiliated students are enrolled at the university. Attracting and retaining military-affiliated students is one of UNCW’s strategic goals.
The Office of Military Affairs hopes it will be able to streamline the process for those seeking information, and for UNCW to share what makes the university so military supportive by coordinating with other departments to share their information and resources, said Bill Kawczynski, director of the Office of Military Affairs.
“The Office of Military Affairs is so excited to launch the Military Affairs website,” Kawczynski said. “We are thankful to many areas on campus for their support and contributions to this new resource for our military-affiliated students, for our partners both on and off campus and for future Seahawks.”
