9 a.m. – As Tropical Storm Hermine continues moving away from Wilmington and surrounding communities, weather conditions are projected to improve rapidly on Saturday, Sept. 3, and campus events will resume as scheduled. Please see individual event websites for specific information.

The potential for dangerous rip currents will remain high during the day, and students, faculty and staff are urged to exercise caution when visiting the beach. Stay out of the ocean as directed by signage and safety personnel.

UNCW’s main campus experienced limited damage as a result of the storm. Additional updates about Tropical Storm Hermine are not planned at this time. If changing conditions warrant, the university will post new information on the UNCW homepage, the UNCW Alert website, Facebook and Twitter.
