Explore Educational Possibilities at UNCW Graduate School Open House
Friday, September 30, 2016
The UNCW Graduate School will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 in the Watson Education Building Atrium. In its second year, the event is a unique opportunity to meet program coordinators, graduate faculty and students, and financial aid representatives.UNCW is among the top-ranked public, master's-focused universities in the South and offers four doctoral and 29 master’s degree programs, as well as certificate, add-on-licensure and non-degree options. More than 1,800 students are currently enrolled in the university’s graduate programs.
UNCW’s two new doctoral programs, the Doctor of Nursing Practice and the Ph.D. in Psychology, will be highlighted, as well as the new online Executive M.B.A. program and M.A.T. in Physical Education and Health.
“We are excited to showcase new and existing programs to prospective students,” said Ron Vetter, Associate Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School. “All programs, including fully online options, will be represented at the open house event.”
Allison Lawlor, a graduate student who joined the M.Ed. in Higher Education program in spring 2016, said last year’s open house was beneficial to her in a number of ways.
“In addition to meeting faculty and staff members, I was able to mingle with my new classmates and explore the other graduate programs UNCW has to offer. I would encourage any Seahawk who is already enrolled or who is considering applying to graduate school to attend this event.”
There is no cost for attendance, but registration is required. Refreshments will be provided and free parking is available in the nearby parking deck.
