The Colonial Athletic Association has recognized 185 student-athletes from UNCW with the Commissioner's Academic Award for the 2015-16 academic year.

The Commissioner's Academic Award honors student-athletes who have distinguished themselves in the classroom and athletic arena. Student-athletes must be members of a sport sponsored by the CAA and achieve at least a 3.200 grade point average based on semester/quarter performance or cumulative GPA.

"We're extremely proud of the accomplishments of our student-athletes," said Jimmy Bass, UNCW's athletic director. "Our student-athletes are true champions who work every day to excel in the classroom and represent UNCW well. We applaud their continued success in both areas."

Overall, the conference honored 2,152 student-athletes from its member schools in 2015-16.  Read the full article.
