Congratulations to the UNCW Class of 2016

UNCW celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2016, the largest in the university’s history, with four commencement ceremonies held in Trask Coliseum on May 6 and 7. More than 2,300 undergraduates, graduate and doctoral students received their degrees as part of UNCW’s 91st commencement exercises.

The May 6 ceremony for the Cameron School of Business featured guest speaker Jean Matney English ’96, Vice President of Global Marketing at IBM Cloud. The ceremony for the Watson College of Education and the College of Health and Human Services included remarks from Randall Williams, Deputy Secretary for Health Services, N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.
The May 7 ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences featured speakers Rebecca Lee, UNCW associate professor of creative writing, and Steve McNamee, UNCW professor of sociology and criminology.
