Communication Studies to Host Integrated Marketing Communication Camp

Friday, May 27, 2016

The UNCW Department of Communication Studies is hosting its second Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) Camp June 2-3 at the UNCW Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Integrated marketing communication is a holistic approach to an organization’s communication with its audiences. Sessions will focus on market research and analytics, social media, brand identity and management, and media and communication training. Each session is taught by communication studies faculty. The camp also features one-on-one or small group consulting with faculty and a networking reception.

“At IMC Camp, our guiding question is ‘How can IMC facilitate engagement with audiences such as residents, voters, customers, volunteers, students and alumni?’” said Jeanne Persuit, IMC camp director and associate professor.

The two-day professional development camp is open to communication professionals, nonprofit organizations, small business owners and UNCW employees.

“We are so often in the thick of the work of the organization that we forget to stop and learn new skills and make connections with our peers,” Persuit said.  “We hope IMC Camp is a time for our attendees to recharge and learn.”

Registration for IMC Camp 2016 is $180. For more information, contact IMC Camp Director Jeanne Persuit at IMC@uncw.edu.

The camp was made possible by a grant from the UNCW Office of Community Engagement.
