Producers in the UNCW Office of University Relations have been honored with two Telly Awards, recognizing Jesse Bradley, Krista McKinney and Nekira Woodbury as stars in the media production industry.
Bradley, director of media production, and Woodbury ’18, a UNCW student intern, received a Bronze Telly for “UNCW Move-In Day Experience.” McKinney, editor and cinematographer, also captured an honor in the Bronze category for “WE ARE UNCW: International Student Thanksgiving.”
“The high quality of these award-winning videos reflects our team’s professional expertise and dedication to promoting the accomplishments of UNCW’s students, faculty and staff,” said Janine Iamunno, executive director of university relations.
The Move-In documentary captures the longstanding tradition of thousands of campus and community volunteers welcoming first-year students and helping them get set up in campus residence halls. The Thanksgiving production features Wilmington residents Tom and Cindy Simpson, who have opened their home and hosted international students for a special holiday dinner annually for nearly a decade.
The OUR Media Production team highlights the academic and institutional achievements of the university via video production, still photography and multimedia campaigns. Their work can be viewed throughout the university and community as well as via the team’s Vimeo page.
“Our team is very proud to tell the stories of UNCW, and we are very excited to be recognized for our work,” said Bradley.
The Telly Awards recognize the finest work in local, regional and cable TV programming, as well as online, video and film productions. Both productions were chosen from among 13,000 entries for this honor. For 37 years, the Telly Awards have upheld a historical standard of excellence in film and video production by bestowing its recognition. Less than 10 percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, its highest honor. Approximately 25 percent of entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly. Noted Telly recipients include CNBC, Comcast, Conde Nast Entertainment, Discovery and Showtime Networks.
