Thursday, February 25, 2016
The Student Government Association (SGA) recently acknowledged appreciation for University Librarian Sarah Watstein and her team in consistently addressing the concerns of students.
The formal resolution, entitled “A Statement of Admiration for the Randall Library Staff,” recognizes how the Randall Library staff goes above and beyond to anticipate students’ needs, as well as create an inspiring and nurturing environment to enrich students’ lives and academic success.
“SGA felt that the [Randall Library] team exhibited a high level of energy, proactiveness and focus for students,” said Student Government Association President Dan McCord. “We feel that such an appreciation for the student voice warranted recognition.”
According to its website, the William Madison Randall Library supports the mission of the university by providing information resources and learner-centered services and by cultivating a rich physical and virtual environment dedicated to the open exchange of ideas and an information-literate community.
“It truly takes a village to provide the consistently high level and quality of services that we do, whether they are face-to-face services or virtual services,” said Watstein. “Randall Library staff and our student workers make a daily difference in our students’ lives and academic success. This is a pat-on-the-back-and-then-some moment!”
