This message is being sent by the Office of University Relations on behalf of Environmental Health & Safety.
Campus Community:
Based on the latest information from the National Weather Service, UNCW has canceled main-campus classes scheduled to start at 12 p.m. or later today. The campus remains open, however, and employees should consult the Adverse Weather Policy (Condition One) to determine their best personal course of action.
Students should notify their instructors if they are unable to attend classes scheduled to begin before 12 p.m. today. Employees should discuss any timekeeping concerns with their supervisors.
The Onslow Extension Site will follow Coastal Carolina University's protocol, per usual; students should consult with instructors as needed.
Most campus events scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. or later today will be canceled, but please consult with individual event websites as the day progresses for the latest information. Randall Library, Campus Dining and the Student Rec Center will remain operational per usual hours. The campus forum regarding the new strategic plan, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today, has been canceled and will be rescheduled.
Classes are expected to resume on Thursday morning; an updated campus message will be sent if any further delays or cancellations become necessary. Please exercise caution in traveling in the area, and in moving about campus. Remain indoors after 12 p.m. if possible. The most intense period of today's weather event is expected to occur between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., but please continue to monitor local media for the latest information.
Thank you for your attention.
