UNCW is monitoring Hurricane Joaquin in collaboration with the National Weather Service, New Hanover County, and other campus and community partners. According to the latest forecasts, thunderstorms and heavy rains could affect the Wilmington area through the weekend (Sunday, Oct. 4). Updates will be provided as conditions warrant. Classes and events are currently being held as scheduled.
In preparation, UNCW emergency operations staff are readying to implement the university’s weather response plans.
