Raymond Burt Appointed as Interim Assistant Provost for International Programs

Raymond Burt has been named the Interim Assistant Provost for International Programs. 

He has extensive administrative experience as a chair, assistant vice chancellor, associate vice chancellor and associate provost. His duties as both associate vice chancellor and associate provost included oversight of international programs, among various other units. In addition to his administrative experience, Burt has extensive international experience, both in leading students abroad and in program development. His appointment was effective July 1, 2015.

The Office of International Programs fosters faculty global research initiatives; supports global curriculum development; creates programs and services for international students; advises on and processes visa petitions for international faculty, students and staff; sends UNCW students abroad; develops educational linkages with international partners; houses UNCW’s ESL program; takes a proactive stance toward risk management for students abroad; takes a leading role in dealing with issues that may arise for students, faculty and staff traveling abroad; supports on-campus global programming; and expands global opportunities on campus and in the surrounding community.
