WEATHER ALERT for Monday, Feb. 16: UNCW’s Onslow Extension Site’s Evening Classes Cancelled (5p-11p); Main Campus to Remain Open

Monday, February 16, 2015

UNCW is monitoring a potential winter weather event for Monday and Tuesday, February 16 and 17. According to the National Weather Service, the winter weather threat has mostly ended for the UNCW area and is expected to be an all-rain event for New Hanover and Brunswick Counties. However, some areas north and west of New Hanover County, including Onslow County, remain under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Evening classes at UNCW's Onslow Extension Site scheduled between 5 and 11 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, have been cancelled. UNCW’s main campus is open and classes remain in session.

By 6a tomorrow, an alert will be sent via email and/or text message ONLY if there will be any further cancellations or delays.

Faculty, staff and students should exercise discretion while commuting to and from UNCW’s main campus from outlying counties. Faculty and staff from affected areas should refer to the Adverse Weather Policy.

For faculty who deem it necessary to cancel or postpone classes on the main campus this evening or tomorrow morning, UNCW recommends notifying your students as soon as possible. Students who will be absent from scheduled classes due to weather conditions should contact their instructors.

Please continue to monitor the hotline (910.962.3991), social media (@UNCWilmington and and the UNCW website.
