UNCW’s Schuhmann Honored by The Southern Economic Association with Kenneth G. Elzinga Distinguished Teaching Award

Peter W. Schuhmann, a professor of economics in the Cameron School of Business, was recently honored with the prestigious Kenneth G. Elzinga Distinguished Teaching Award by the Southern Economic Association.

The Kenneth G. Elzinga Distinguished Teaching Award honors one or more faculty members for outstanding contributions to economics education. The award is named for Ken Elzinga, Robert C. Taylor Professor of Economics at the University of Virginia, who is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished, effective and influential educators in economics.

A faculty member at UNCW since 1999, Schuhmann has been recognized with the Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award, the Distinguished Teaching Professorship Award, the Board of Trustees Teaching Excellence Award and the MBA outstanding faculty award. In 2013, he received the Board of Governors Teaching Excellence Award.
