Friday, November 07, 2014

Building a Better Wilmington: Giving and Volunteering in the Port City, a documentary produced by UNCW students, will air four times per week throughout November on New Hanover County Television.

Building a Better Wilmington is a campaign to promote volunteerism and community engagement and to increase the effectiveness and sustainability of nonprofit organizations in southeastern North Carolina. Designed to foster and publish research on the nonprofit sector, the campaign forges collaborations between UNCW and the nonprofit community.

“We are excited to partner with NHC and share our films with the community,” said Jeffrey Brudney, the Betty and Dan Cameron Family Distinguished Professor of Innovation in the Nonprofit Sector at UNCW. “These films are an integral part of our Building a Better Wilmington Campaign. We make these films to be seen and used by the university, local nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies.”

New Hanover County Television is available on Time Warner Cable channels 13 and 16.10, Charter Cable channel 5 and online at nhcgov.com/nhctv. For a complete schedule, see http://news.nhcgov.com/nhctv/nhctv-schedule/.
