Request for Proposals: ETEAL-Supported Pedagogy Initiatives for 2014-2015

Tuesday, September 02, 2014

ETEAL, UNCW’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), supports faculty, staff and students’ efforts to enhance academic achievement through applied learning. Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit pedagogy initiatives for amounts up to $3500 to improve applied learning with students during the 2014-2015 academic year.

"The growth of our ETEAL initiatives over the last year is a testament to our faculty and staff's commitment to engaging our students in a meaningful learning experience both in and out of the classroom. UNCW, with its focus on innovation, is an ideal setting for applied learning and we are eager to see what new ideas bubble up from this request for proposals," said Jess Boersma, director of ETEAL

ETEAL-supported applied learning opportunities may provide salary stipend, materials and/or travel. These funds cannot be used for course buy-out or to purchase food. Small group proposals are welcome. The current RFP outlines the criteria for all proposals.

The deadline for proposals is Sept. 29; funding decisions will be announced on Oct. 21. The Applied Learning & Teaching Community (ALTC) and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) are co-hosting a proposal workshop on Sep. 16 from 11 noon at CTE, which is open to all interested parties.
