The University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Swain Center for Business and Economic Services has opened registration for their annual Outlook conference on Oct. 14 with keynote Brian Daley.

As the region's premier forum for economic activity and forecast, the 2014 conference, Outlook: Financial Services, will focus on the current issues facing the Financial Services Industry in Southeastern North Carolina.

Daley is the managing director and head of equity research at U.S. Trust, and will focus on the big five investment themes currently affecting the economy: global real estate, demographics, technology and innovation, energy and natural resources, and emerging middle-class consumers.

Registered guests will begin with breakfast and networking at 7:30 a.m., immediately followed by an opening welcome at 8 a.m. and speakers Thomas Simpson and Woody Hall at 8:15 a.m. to discuss the national and local economic outlook.

The program will end with a real estate panel and Q&A featuring Teresa Huffmon, with Coldwell Banker Commercial and Atlantic Neurosurgical; Chris Livengood, Intracoastal Realty; and Haywood Newkirk, Clontz Newkirk Real Estate Group.
