First Campus Writers Conference, June 28-30

The UNCW Department of Creative Writing, Randall Library, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) will co-host the first UNCW Summer Writers Conference, June 28-30. The inaugural conference will feature a number of workshops, discussions and readings, and a keynote address by noted author and UNCW faculty member Clyde Edgerton.

A professor at UNCW since 1998, Edgerton is the author of ten novels, a memoir, and numerous short stories, and essays. A past Guggenheim Fellow, five of his novels have been recognized as New York Times Notable Books. Other workshop leaders include creative writing faculty Lavonne J. Adams (poetry), Wendy Brenner (fiction), Nina de Gramont (fiction and young adult), and Virginia Holman (creative nonfiction).
