Info for Prospective Students

Teaching Assistantships

  • Stipend: $11,000 for the academic year, $1,200 for the summer
  • An assistantship is generally renewable for a second year, depending on academic performance and satisfactory performance of assistantship duties. The duties include grading papers and tutoring in the Math Lab.
  • Applications that request consideration for a teaching assistantship should be submitted by April 1 for fall admission.

In-State Tuition Remission

An award of $500.00 or $1,000.00 each semester for students who qualify for in-state tuition at the University of North Carolina. These are generally renewable for another year.

Out-of-State Tuition Award

These awards provide partial or full reimbursement of the out-of-state portion of the tuition for students who do not qualify for in-state tuition. These are generally renewable for another year.

New Scholar Award

A scholarship of $500.00 or $1,000.00 awarded to outstanding applicants.
