Minority Enterprise Development (MED)

About

Four women around a table at one of the Med Week eventsSince 2015, the University of North Carolina Wilmington, along with community partners, has hosted a Minority Enterprise Development Week to recognize the economic impact of minority- and women-owned businesses. The activities are part of the national observance of Minority Enterprise Development Week, created by presidential proclamation in 1983. MED Week recognizes the achievements of local minority entrepreneurs, provides opportunities for networking, and presents workshops to help grow and strengthen businesses.;

Cape Fear MED Week celebrates and affirms a commitment to equal opportunity and economic inclusion. It also convenes business leaders and business development advocates, promotes business opportunities, reports industry trends and recognizes outstanding minority business firms in the region.

Events provide attendees the opportunity to:

  • Connect with business vendors
  • Meet leaders from the regional business community
  • Learn about government contracting and business opportunities
  • Grow your professional network
  • Receive information and resources to develop your business

We encourage you to like our page, @CapefearMEDWeek on Facebook, to stay up to date on the events occurring throughout MED Week.
