What are the REU schedules?

Week 1-2: Orientation and training

  • Introduction to REU research goals and project background Intensive and targeted workshops on data mining and statistical learning techniques 
  • Selection of topics and databased for participants and beginning of the research 
  • Introductory workshops on computational software (R, Python, Matlab) and typeset software, library and online resources

• Week 3-9: Research Experience

  • Group meetings and reflective journals (daily)
  • Team-based research presentation, round table discussion, technical reports (weekly)
  • Content/research skill development seminar and or field trip (weekly)
  • Technical writing sessions (bi-weekly)
  • Colloquium talks by invited speakers (bi-weekly)

• Week 10: Final Project Presentations & Reports

  • Final editing sessions for technical reports
  • Final project presentations
  • Final poster presentations
