MISSION

Students will give back to the coastal community and earn 10 hours of community service while also having fun learning to surf. 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

MarineQuest’s environmental and community service program is catching some waves this summer! Learn to surf while also completing 10 hours of community service.  Projects include coastal restoration efforts, and citizen science initiatives.  The fun doesn't stop there!  Brush up on your leadership skills and learn how to be a strong team leader while serving and learning to surf.

PREREQUISITES 

  • Must have completed 8th grade and turn 14 by June 1st. Must not turn 18 before July 31st.

HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Earn 10+ hours of community service while making new friends (a certificate and description of service projects completed will be awarded at Friday parent presentations).
  • Experience 4 surf lessons and a paddle board adventure.
  • Discuss coastal/shoreline issues and contribute to coastal restoration projects
  • Give back to the beach community by assisting in the maintenance of ADA beach going equipment.
