Hey small fry, think you're too little for MarineQuest? Heck no, you're just right for our big coastal pre-K adventure. Explore the mucky marsh and salty sea as we discover all things fishy. See why a marsh is considered a nursery. Learn all about fish as you explore diets, food chains and habitats. Investigate fish life cycles and see how fish grow and develop. Did you know that once baby fish can feed themselves, they're called fry? You are sure to be a big fish before this camp is over!

Field excursions include:

  • Exploration of the beach, marsh, UNCW Center for Marine Science and NC Aquarium

Highlights include:

  • Each day begins with a special read-aloud fish book; observe fish and other marine organisms up close; go seining and dip netting for juvenile fish; enjoy a safe, shallow water boat float through the marsh; learn how to measure fish; play educational field games & crafts; create your own whopper of a fish tale; ride a school bus
