Surf Instructor

Get stoked for a "swell" summer of teaching the science behind surfing while your students rip it up on the big blue ocean with MarineQuest's Surf-n-Science programs. Work alongside of professional surf instructors during the morning and then head out for an afternoon of marine science adventures where you will instruct students on physical oceanography and wave formation, weather, discussions of coastal/shoreline issues, ocean chemistry and marine life that surf or inhabit the surf zone. Knowledge related to the physics of surf board design is a plus. Qualified applicants are preferred to have a strong understanding of marine science that supports safe and informed surfing. Programs weeks will be divided between Surf-n-Science Groms (ages 10 - 13) and Surf-n-Service (ages 14 - 17), and Sea Sports Science (ages 10-13).

Note: actual surfing instructions are led by Odysea Surf School staff. MarineQuest staff are responsible for behavior management of campers during lessons and marine science instruction outside of lessons.
