UNCW MarineQuest is seeking an independent and charismatic individual to serve as our AmeriCorps’ Coastal Citizen Science Ambassador.

This position will coordinate our Storm Surge Protectors program working in the community to cultivate citizen scientists who are interested in studying the conditions of our dynamic coastal wetlands.

The primary purposes of the MarineQuest Program Assistant are to:

  • To support the MarineQuest summer camp director in preparation and implementation of camps;  
  • To assist the MarineQuest school programs coordinator in development and implementation of lessons/activities for school programs;
  • To maintain the MarineQuest lab in good working order, including all equipment, aquariums, and research materials and projects;
  • To organize and support volunteers who work in the lab, including the citizen science volunteers and AmeriCorps member.

This position is based at the UNCW Center for Marine Science.
