Win one of two $500 tuition scholarships for our Online Summer Language & Culture Program!
This summer there are two merit-based $500 scholarships available for students who enroll in the Online Summer Language & Culture Program. The scholarship award is discounted from the tuition.
Application Requirements
To be considered for a $500 tuition scholarship, submit an application for the summer program, pay the $100 application fee, and email to elc@uncw.edu an essay. The essay should explain how the scholarship will contribute to your English learning goals.
Additional Requirement
If you are awarded the scholarship, you must agree to assist with the betterment or promotion of UNCW, for example, give a presentation about your country or promote UNCW in your home country.

Win a $1000 tuition scholarship!
Each semester, there are two merit-based $1000 scholarships available for students who enroll in the Full Semester Program.
Scholarships recipients will be notified within 1-2 weeks of the application deadline. The scholarship award is discounted from the tuition.
Application Requirements
To be considered for a $1000 tuition scholarship, submit the following items by the application deadline for the program you plan to attend:
- ELC application Part I
- ELC application Part II (supporting documents)
- Scholarship application-Complete all items below and email to elc@uncw.edu
- Essay: explain how the scholarship will contribute to your English learning goals. The essay should be a minimum of 250 words.
- Recommendation letter from a former or present teacher. The letter must be in English. The recommendation must explain why you are deserving of the scholarship.

Are you an ESL teacher in your home country?
If you are currently teaching English in your home country and want to improve your English fluency, email us your resume/CV. We may have additional scholarship funds available for you.
Give back! ELC scholarship fund
Did you have a wonderful experience at UNCW and want to give back? Do you believe in the importance of international exchange and the English language Center? Help make the ELC a reality for deserving students around the globe by contributing to the ELC Scholarship fund. 100% of donations to this fund will be applied directly to ESL student scholarships. Scholarship recipients will be determined based on financial need and long-term English goals. If you would like to be part of the scholarship review committee and/or attend a scholarship award banquet and participate in presenting a scholarship you helped fund, email elc@uncw.edu for more details.
