Returning Room Sign-up Process

In order to be eligible for on-campus housing, students must complete a housing agreement and pay a $105 non-refundable housing application fee. With the decision to have only academic year agreements, rooms in Seahawk CrossingSeahawk Landing, Seahawk Village, and University Suites will be first come, first serve.  You will not be able to reclaim your current room unless it is available during the sign-up process.
Please be aware that housing agreements will only be accepted from returning students as space permits; in order to be successful in securing housing for the 2018-19 academic year, please complete a housing agreement as soon as the application opens.

 

Use the following guide to help you sign up for fall housing:

Step 1 – Get Ready To Apply

  • You may apply for housing starting February 1, 2018 at 10 a.m.
  • You will access the housing application via mySeaport:
    • Login to mySeaport
    • Click on the Student Services tab
    • Click on the link for "Apply for On-Campus Housing" to begin the housing signup process
  • Be ready to supply your personal information, including emergency contacts.

Step 2 – Submit Your Application

  • Sign your housing agreement online
  • Pay your $105 housing application fee.  This fee is non-refundable regardless of enrollment.
  • If you require a reasonable accommodation that could influence your housing assignment, please contact our Disability Resource Center to submit your Disability Accommodation Request form as soon as possible.

Step 3 – Create Your Roommate Group (Optional)

  • Do you already know someone you'd like to room with?
    • If so, use the "Roommate Group" menu (instructions below) to request a specific roommate.
    • You can search for your potential roommate(s) by using their: Name or UNCW Email ID. 
    • This group can be modified up until you select your room during Returning Student Sign-up.

REMINDER: Please note that returning students can only be matched with other returning students. For example, returning students cannot be paired with newly admitted first-year students or transfer students.

Step 4 – Select Your Room

  • Open Room Sign-Up for Current Freshmen Residents:

(Sophomore Experience in Seahawk Crossing ONLY)
Monday, Feb. 5th 10 a.m. - Tuesday, Feb. 6th 3 p.m.

Current freshmen residents living in Traditional Housing who wish to live in Seahawk Crossing for the Sophomore Experience will have priority to claim rooms in all Seahawk Crossing buildings. Students may pull-in roommate(s) of any class level, except for newly entering freshmen or transfer students during this time. Roommates MUST have completed their agreement and paid the $105 housing application fee prior to being pulled-in.  Additionally, you will need to have created a Roommate Group OR have your potential roommate(s) PIN code.

  • Open Room Sign-Up for All Current Residents

(Upperclassmen Spaces) via specific entry times based on application receipt date & time

Wednesday, Feb. 7th 10 a.m. – until spaces are filled

You will receive your entry time via your UNCW email on 2/6/18 after 5 p.m.

Your entry time will be based on your application receipt date and time.

Current freshmen residents living in Traditional Housing and students currently living in Crossing, Landing, Village, Apartments or Suites can move anywhere in Crossing, Landing, Village and the Suites. Students may pull in roommate(s) of any class level, except for newly entering freshmen or transfers during this time.  Roommates MUST have completed their agreement and paid the $105 housing application fee prior to being pulled-in.  Additionally, you will need to have created a Roommate Group OR have your potential roommate(s) PIN code.

  • Open Room Sign-Up for Students Living Off-Campus:

(Upperclassmen Spaces - Sophomore, Junior, and Senior)

Wednesday, Feb. 14th 10 a.m. – Until all spaces are filled

Students currently living off-campus can select a room in Crossing, Landing, Village or the Suites. 

The application may close at any time once all spaces have become filled.

Note: All communication to students regarding on-campus housing will be sent to the student's UNCW email account. Students are expected to check their email regularly for important information.
