The Graduate School is pleased to announce that Dr. Wendy Donlin Washington, associate professor in the Department of Psychology, has been named associate dean of the Graduate School. As associate dean, Dr. Donlin Washington will oversee graduate student and graduate program support processes, facilitate development of professional development programming for graduate students and graduate faculty, and provide support to the Graduate School staff. Dr. Donlin Washington has previously coordinated the applied behavior analysis concentration for the M.A. and Ph.D. programs in psychology, served as undergraduate coordinator for the Department of Psychology, and, most recently, served as special assistant to the dean of the Graduate School.
Dr. Donlin Washington is an active scholar and student mentor. She has published 20 papers in peer reviewed journals (many with student co-authors), has served as the principal investigator (PI) or co-PI on nearly $300,000 in grant funding, and has served in a variety of leadership positions within her academic societies. Dr. Donlin Washington was awarded the Discere Aude award for outstanding mentorship and has successfully mentored numerous students at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, including Dr. Sydney Batchelder, the first-ever doctoral graduate from the Department of Psychology. The Graduate School is delighted that Dr. Donlin Washington will be contributing her experience and expertise in support of UNCW’s outstanding graduate programs.
