Course Description

GLS 502: Contemporary Issues in Liberal Studies

To kick you off to the interdisciplinary approach of the GLS program, GLS 502 will first focus upon selected readings dealing with a broad range of topics in contemporary American society and the mediated global culture. We will discuss critical issues in liberal studies that may be influencing disciplinary methodology, discourse, or research techniques. There will be an emphasis on forms of written communication and research methods, and guidance will be provided on how to participate and write at the graduate level.
